Anything Can Happen in the Theater: The Songs of Maury Yeston comes to the Triad for 12 nights only from October 4-21. Conceived and directed by Gerard Alessandrini (creator of Forbidden Broadway and Spamilton), the show celebrates the music of two-time Tony-winning composer Maury Yeston.

The cast includes Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde), Jill Paice (An American in Paris), Alex Getlin, Justin Keyes (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), and Michael Maliakel (Monsoon Wedding at Berkeley Rep). Greg Jarrett lends musical direction.

Maury Yeston’s music and lyrics include his Broadway musicals Nine, Titanic (both of which earned him Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Musical, as well as Grammy nominations), and Grand Hotel (Tony nomination, Olivier Award). The Broadway revival of Nine, starring Antonio Banderas, won an additional Tony for Best Revival of a Musical. Yeston received Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Critics' Choice nominations for Best Original Song for the film of Nine, which featured Daniel Day-Lewis, Sophia Loren, Penélope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, and Judi Dench. Several of his musicals have also been produced off-Broadway, including Phantom, Death Takes a Holiday, and In the Beginning.

Anything Can Happen in the Theater: The Songs of Maury Yeston will feature Yeston’s best-known songs as well as new songs that have yet to be performed in public.
