Talkback for Eudora Welty — Mississippi Stories to Follow Sunday Performance

A talkback will take place following the 3pm performance of Eudora Welty — Mississippi Stories on Sunday, July 31, at the Studio Theatre of Theatre Row, featuring a question-and-answer session with the audience. TheaterMania critic and features reporter Zachary Stewart will lead a panel discussion with members of the creative team, including Jenny Odle Madden, Alice Rainey Berry, and Gloria Baxter.
Eudora Welty — Mississippi Stories is a stage adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author's short story "Why I Live at the P.O.," told from the perspective of a garrulous Southern woman who has taken up residency in a Mississippi post office. The play also features a staging of Welty's memoir, One Writer’s Beginnings, about growing up in a family of Southern bibliophiles. Adapters Jenny Odle Madden and Alice Rainey Berry perform every role. Gloria Baxter directs.
Madden and Berry are the cofounders of Voices of the South, which is presenting this NYC debut in association with Summoners Ensemble Theatre. Ten percent of the gross sales from this run will go to the Mississippi Center for Justice, a nonprofit, public interest law firm committed to advancing racial and economic justice in the state.
