Taylor Mac to Open St. Ann's Warehouse 2016-17 Season

St. Ann's Warehouse has announced the lineup of productions for its 2016-17 season — the second in its new waterfront home.
The season will open with the premiere of Taylor Mac’s A 24-Decade History of Popular Music (September 15-October 8), featuring music direction and arrangements by Matt Ray, codirection by Niegel Smith, design by Machine Dazzle and Mimi Lien, and lighting by John Torres. Daniel Kitson’s Mouse: The Persistence of an Unlikely Thought (November 8-27) and American avant-gardist Penny Arcade’s Longing Lasts Longer (December 1-11) will follow.
Next will be the Donmar Warehouse production of The Tempest, culminating director Phyllida Lloyd’s trilogy of all-female Shakespeare productions led by Harriet Walter (January 13-February 12, 2017). The production will be followed by another season highlight, 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips, an adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s book from Kneehigh and Emma Rice, the new artistic director of Shakespeare’s Globe (March 16-April 9, 2017).
