MCC Theater has announced an extension of its upcoming production of Noah Haidle's Smokefall. Anne Kauffman directs the drama, which opens February 22 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The show's run was originally scheduled to end on March 13 and will now go through March 20.

The play is described as follows: "Magical realism collides with manic vaudeville in a family drama unlike any you've ever seen. The Twins swap philosophy while awaiting their birth, Beauty eats dirt and doesn't speak, Father is about to drive away and never return, and a man named Footnote acts as our guide. Whipping from astonishing tenderness to profound humor and back again, this wholly original play uncovers the extraordinary family connections we all stretch and warp across the years but can never quite break."

Smokefall's company is led by Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story), alongside Robin Tunney (The Mentalist), Taylor Richardson (Annie), Jon DeVries (The Apple Family Plays), and Brian Hutchison (Man and Boy). The creative team includes Mimi Lien (scenic design), David Weiner (lighting design), Asta Hostetter (costume design), and Lindsay Jones (sound design).

Smokefall had its world premiere at Chicago's Goodman Theatre in 2014.
