Joe Godfrey's new play Romance Language celebrated its opening night at Theater 511 at Ars Nova on October 22. The limited run will continue through November 8.

Romance Language follows a wealthy Manhattan widow who takes up private lessons with an alluring young Italian instructor. As their unexpected romance blossoms, her daughter raises doubts concerning this mysterious teacher's intentions.

The play stars Mairin Lee, Audrey Heffernan Meyer, and Jared Zirilli. The creative team includes scenic design by Paul Tate DePoo III, costume design by Tony Award nominee Gregory Gale, lighting design by Grant Yeager, and sound design by Bart Fasbender.

Romance Language, which is produced by RLNYC GROUP, had its world premiere in 2014 at Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, Connecticut.
