The New Group Announces Extension of Jerry Springer — The Opera

Matt McGrath will take over the role of Jerry Springer after Terrence Mann leaves the cast on March 11.

The New Group has announced that its production of Jerry Springer — The Opera will extend for three more weeks, now closing on April 1 at the Pershing Square Signature Center. In addition, Matt McGrath will take over the role of Jerry Springer as Terrence Mann leaves the production on March 11.

Directed by John Rando and choreographed by Chris Bailey, Jerry Springer — The Opera is written by Richard Thomas and Stewart Lee. It presents a series of unusual characters, each of whom are desperate for their "Jerry Springer moment." In Act 1, Springer's guests include a man with a fiancée, a lover, and another lover with a secret. Act 2 depicts Springer in hell.

Currently featured in the cast are Terrence Mann as Jerry Springer, with Will Swenson playing Satan. The complete company includes Jennifer Allen (Irene/Mary), Florrie Bagel (Peaches), Brandon Contreras (ensemble), Sean Patrick Doyle (Tremont), Bradley Greer (ensemble), Luke Grooms (Dwight/God), Nathaniel Hackmann (Chucky/Adam), Billy Hepfinger (Steve), Justin Keyes (Montel/Jesus), Beth Kirkpatrick (Zandra), Elizabeth Loyacano (Andrea/Valkyrie), Tiffany Mann (Shawntel/Eve), Jill Paice (Baby Jane), Kim Steele (ensemble), Nichole Turner (ensemble), Michael Brennan (music direction and keyboard), Rick Bertone (keyboard), Harry Hassell (woodwinds), and Adam Wolfe (drums).

This production features set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, sound design by Joshua D. Reid, projection design by Olivia Sebesky, and orchestrations by Greg Anthony Rassen.
