Nancy Opel-Led Curvy Widow Releases New Photos

Opening night for Bobbie Goldman’s musical comedy is August 3.

The New York premiere of Curvy Widow, starring Tony nominee Nancy Opel, has released production photos offering a look at the musical comedy directed by Peter Flynn. The show is currently in previews at the Westside Theatre ahead of an August 3 opening.

The show features a book by Bobby Goldman as well as music and lyrics by Drew Brody. Opel stars as a fiftysomething widow whose adventures in the least expected places reveal unexpected truths about life, love, survival, and sex.

Joining Opel in the cast are Andrea Bianchi (As the World Turns), Aisha de Haas (Rent), Elizabeth Ward Land (Memphis), Ken Land (Promises, Promises), Alan Muraoka (Miss Saigon), and Christopher Shyer (Mamma Mia!).

The creative team includes Rob Bissinger (set design), Brian Hemesath (costume design), Ryan Rumery and M. Florian Staab (sound design), and Matthew Richards (lighting design). Wayne Barker is the music supervisor, with musical direction by Andrew Sotomayor and choreography by Marcos Santana.
