George Salazar, Will Roland, and More Set for NAMT's 29th Festival of New Musicals

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced the initial lineup of casting and directors for its 29th annual Festival of New Musicals, October 19-20 at New World Stages.

This year's slate of performers includes Felicia Boswell (Shuffle Along), Adam Chanler-Berat (Next to Normal), Juwan Crawley (Aladdin), Alyse Alan Louis (Amélie), Ken Marks (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark), Ben Mayne (The View UpStairs), Eric William Morris (Mamma Mia), Ciara Renée (Big Fish), Will Roland (Dear Evan Hansen), George Salazar (The Lightning Thief), and Emily Walton (Peter and the Starcatcher). Further casting will be announced.

Directors include May Adrales, Stephen Brackett, Jaki Bradley, Matt Cowart, Kristin Hanggi, Sarna Lapine, Jonathan McCrory, Lonny Price, and Andy Sandberg.

Show selections are Darling Grenadine (book, music, and lyrics by Daniel Zaitchik), Fall Springs (music and lyrics by Niko Tsakalakos, book and lyrics by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb), Girl Shakes Loose (music and lyrics by Imani Uzuri, book and lyrics by Zakiyyah Alexander, poetry by Sonia Sanchez), Klook's Last Stand (book by Ché Walker, music by Omar Lyefook and Anoushka Lucas, lyrics by Ché Walker and Anoushka Lucas), Persephone (book and lyrics by Marcus Stevens, music by Oran Eldor), The Passage (book, music, and lyrics by David Darrow), Prom Queen (book by Kent Staines, lyrics by Akiva Romer-Segal, music by Colleen Dauncey), and Sam's Room (book by Dale Sampson with Trey Coates-Mitchell, music and lyrics by Caitlin Marie Bell, Marc Campbell, and Dale Sampson).
