MCC Theater has announced the creative team for the world-premiere production of Lucy Thurber's new play Transfers, running April 5-May 13 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, with opening night set for April 23.

Under the direction of Jackson Gay, the creative team will include Tony winner Donyale Werle (scenic design), Drama Desk nominee Jessica Ford (costume design), Obie winner Russell H. Champa (lighting design), Broken Chord (sound design), Lori Ann Zepp (production stage manager), and Veronica Lee (stage manager).

Transfers is described as follows: "Cristofer and Clarence are two gifted students from the South Bronx. After two years at a local community college being coached by faculty members, the young men are competing for a life-changing scholarship at an elite northeast university. During a campus visit, the young men are unexpectedly confronted with their shared past while trying to break through a system that seems designed to keep them on the outside."
