Tony and Emmy winner Leslie Uggams will head the cast of Dot, the new play by Tony nominee Colman Domingo that will play the Vineyard Theatre in 2016. Directed by Tony winner Susan Stroman (Prince of Broadway), the production begins February 4 and opens February 23.

Uggams, last seen onstage in The First Breeze of Summer is set to take on the titular character, a family matriarch named Dotty, who struggles to live with dementia as her three grown children fight to balance care for her and care for themselves.

She will be joined by Sharon Washington (While I Yet Live), Stephen Conrad Moore (Empire), Libya V. Pugh (The Bluest Eye), Colin Hanlon (Modern Family), and Michael Rosen (On the Town).

This production marks a reunion of sorts for Stroman, Domingo, and Washington, who all collaborated at the Vineyard, and then on Broadway, in Kander and Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys.
