Jason Sudeikis to Take On Iconic Robin Williams Role in Dead Poets Society

The stage adaptation of the beloved film will make its New York debut at Classic Stage Company.

Jason Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live) will star in the upcoming stage adaptation of the classic film Dead Poets Society. Directed by Tony winner John Doyle (The Color Purple), the drama will have its premiere at off-Broadway's Classic Stage Company beginning October 27. Opening night is set for November 17.

Sudeikis, whose credits also include Horrible Bosses and The Last Man on Earth, will take on the role of John Keating, an unconventional professor at an all-boys preparatory school who inspires his students to live with passion and defy conformity. The role was originated on screen by Robin Williams.

Tom Schulman, who won an Academy Award for his screenplay, pen the stage adaptation. Casting and additional information will be announced.
