Lincoln Center Theater has announced casting for the new play by Sarah Ruhl (The Oldest Boy, The Clean House), How to Transcend a Happy Marriage, directed by Rebecca Taichman at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Performances are set to begin February 23 in advance of a March 20 opening.

The cast will include Tony winner Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Brian Hutchison (Man and Boy), Drama Desk Award winner David McElwee (The Wayside Motor Inn), Naian González Norvind (Her Requiem), Tony nominee Omar Metwally (Sixteen Wounded), Austin Smith (Hamilton), Oscar winner Marisa Tomei (The Realistic Joneses), and Emmy nominee Robin Weigert (Deadwood).

At a dinner party in the wilds of New Jersey, two married couples (Tomei and Metwally/Weigert and Hutchison) discuss a younger acquaintance — a polyamorous woman who also hunts her own meat (Hall). Fascinated, they invite this mysterious woman and her two live-in boyfriends to a New Year’s Eve party, which alters the course of their lives.

The creative team will feature sets by David Zinn, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski, sound by Matt Hubbs, and original music by Todd Almond.
