Hir Announces Third and Final Extension

Taylor Mac pens the New York premiere, now running at Playwrights Horizons.

Playwrights Horizons announces the third and final extension of Hir, a new play written by Taylor Mac and directed by Niegel Smith, at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

Performances will now run two extra weeks through Sunday, January 3, 2016. The production was originally slated to close November 29, followed by an extension through December 6 and a second extension through December 20. The play began previews Friday, October 16, and had its official opening on Sunday, November 8.

Hir is described as a "subversive comedy" that follows Isaac, who has returned from the wars to help take care of his ailing father, only to discover a household in revolt. The cast is made up of Tony nominee Kristine Nielsen (You Can't Take It With You), Daniel Oreskes (The Revisionist), Tom Phelan (The Fosters), and Cameron Scoggins (Pocatello).
