Curvy Widow, a new musical starring Tony nominee Nancy Opel, will make its New York debut at the Westside Theatre beginning July 20. Opening night is set for August 3. The Manhattan mounting comes after productions at North Carolina Stage Company and, currently, George Street Playhouse.

The show features a book by Bobby Goldman with music and lyrics by Drew Brody. Opel stars as a fiftysomething widow whose adventures in the least expected places reveal unexpected truths about life, love, survival, and sex.

Joining Opel in the cast are Andrea Bianchi (As the World Turns), Aisha de Haas (Rent), Elizabeth Ward Land (Memphis), Ken Land (Promises, Promises), Alan Muraoka (Miss Saigon), and Chris Shyer (Mamma Mia!).

The creative team includes Rob Bissinger (set design), Brian Hemesath (costume design), Matthew Richards (lighting design), and Ryan Rumery and M. Florian Staab (sound design). Wayne Barker is the music supervisor, with musical direction by Andrew Sotomayor and choreography by Marcos Santana.
