Classic Stage Company has announced the lineup for its 50th Anniversary season.

The season will kick off with two Shakespeare productions: As You Like It directed by artistic leader John Doyle, featuring music by Stephen Schwartz (a coproduction with Bay Street Theater set for September 2017), and Fiasco Theater's Twelfth Night (November 2017).

The coming year will see two American plays: the world premiere of Terrence McNally's Fire and Air, a look at the history of the famed Ballets Russes directed by Doyle (January 2018), and a new production of Tennessee Williams' Summer and Smoke, directed by Jack Cummings III (a coproduction with Transport Group Theatre Company set for April 2018).

A new revival of Oscar Hammerstein II's Carmen Jones, with music by Georges Bizet, will take place in June 2018. Doyle directs the show's first major revival since its Broadway debut 75 years ago.

For children, Classic Stage will present the Shakespeare-inspired The Stowaway, written and directed by Drew Petersen and presented by Trusty Sidekick Theater Company (November 2017), as well as Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

Additional information about each production will be announced.
