New York City Center has announced additional casting for its upcoming concert performances of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Sunday in the Park With George. As previously announced, Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford will star as Georges Seurat and Dot in the production, which will run October 24-26.

The cast of Broadway veterans will include Brooks Ashmanskas (Shuffle Along), Phillip Boykin (On the Town), Max Chernin (Bright Star), Carmen Cusack (Bright Star), Gabriel Ebert (Thérèse Raquin), Claybourne Elder (Bonnie and Clyde), Lisa Howard (It Shoulda Been You), Zachary Levi (She Loves Me), Liz McCartney (Annie), Michael McElroy (Disaster!), Ruthie Ann Miles (The King and I), Stephanie Jae Park (The King and I), Gabriella Pizzolo (Fun Home), Phylicia Rashad (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Lauren Worsham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder), Jaime Rosenstein (Wicked tour), and Solea Pfeiffer.

In addition, a special matinee performance has just been added on October 26 at 2pm. The evening performance on October 26, previously announced with a 7pm curtain, will now begin at 7:30pm.

Sunday in the Park With George follows painter Georges Seurat in the months leading up to the completion of his most famous painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. Consumed by his need to "finish the hat," Seurat alienates the French bourgeoisie, spurns his fellow artists, and neglects his lover Dot, not realizing that his actions will reverberate over the next 100 years.
