Cruel Intentions to Star Lauren Zakrin, Carrie St. Louis, Constantine Rousouli, and More

Casting is set for the New York run of Cruel Intentions: The Musical, the stage adaptation of Roger Kumble’s 1999 cult hit film, created by Jordan Ross, Lindsey Rosin, and Roger Kumble. The musical will begin previews at at (le) Poisson Rouge on November 17, with opening night set for December 11.

The story is a modern-day telling of the classic 1782 French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.

Set to the greatest pop and rock hits of the '90s and songs from the film’s iconic soundtrack, Cruel Intentions: The Musical will feature immersive stage direction by Lindsey Rosin and choreography by Jennifer Weber, with music direction and arrangements by Zach Spound, costumes styled by Tilly Grimes, sound by Robert Bradley, lighting by Daniel Kent, and props by Carolyn Mraz.

The musical will star Lauren Zakrin as Kathryn, Constantine Rousouli as Sebastian, Carrie St. Louis as Annette, Jessie Shelton as Cecile, Alex Boniello as Blaine, Brian Muller as Greg, and Matthew Griffin as Ronald. The casting of Mrs. Caldwell will be announced at a later date.

The original film was produced by Neal Moritz and released by Columbia Pictures on March 5, 1999. It starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair, Joshua Jackson, Eric Mabius, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Christine Baranski.
