Branden Jacobs-Jenkins Joins Soho Rep. Board of Directors

The playwright of ”An Octoroon” and ”Gloria” will help guide the off-Broadway organization.

Soho Rep. veterans Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (An Octoroon) and Mimi Lien (Born Bad) are among the new members of the organization's board of directors.

The theater has expanded its board to 15 members, from 10, adding important artistic and strategic voices to its leadership. Alongside playwright Jacobs-Jenkins and scenic designer Lien, new members are Kashif Akhter, senior global manager at Skadden Arps; philanthropist Janice Lee; and Zach Miller, Oscar-nominated producer and vice president of Commerce Partnerships at the e-commerce company Spring.

They join a board that includes Jennifer Adler (treasurer), Jodi Balsam, Sarah Benson, Cynthia Flowers, Frank Holozubiec, Victoria Meakin, Tim Blake Nelson, John A. Selzer, and Diane C. Yu. Jon Dembrow serves as chair.

Under the leadership of artistic director Sarah Benson and executive director Cynthia Flowers, Soho Rep. has continually produced work by bold artists who harness the intimate power of the organization’s 73-seat black box theater to create transformative experiences.
