Bedlam Announces Casting for Pygmalion

Eric Tucker will direct and star in the new production of George Bernard Shaw’s play.

Bedlam has announced casting for its new production of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, running March 16-April 22 at the Sheen Center, with opening night set for Tuesday, March 27.

Vaishnavi Sharma will play Eliza Doolittle, Eric Tucker will play Professor Henry Higgins, and Rajesh Bose will play Mr. Doolittle in the production. The rest of the cast includes Annabel Capper, Nigel Gore, and Edmund Lewis.

Under the direction of Tucker, Bedlam's artistic director, the creative team includes Les Dickert (lighting design), John McDermott (scenic design), and Charlotte Palmer-Lane (costume design).

Bedlam's Pygmalion will, according to a press release, "employ environmental staging and diverse casting…Tucker’s production will view the play through contemporary filters of ethnicity and class, as we as a Nation have a conversation about tolerance and equality."
