Full Cast Set for BAM's Bridge Project Stagings of Cherry Orchard and Winter's Tale

Full casting has been finalized for The Bridge Project's productions of Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard (January 2-March 8), adapted by Tom Stoppard, and William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale (February 10-March 8). The shows are a collaboration among BAM, London's Old Vic Theatre, headed by Kevin Spacey, and Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes, who will helm both productions.

The productions will feature Simon Russell Beale as Lopahkin and Leontes, Sinead Cusack as Madame Ramevskaya and Paulina, Richard Easton as Firs and Old Shepherd/Time, Rebecca Hall as Varya and Hermoine, Josh Hamilton as Yasha and Polixenes, and Ethan Hawke as Trofimov and Autolycus, along with Michael Braun, Selina Cadell, Morven Christie, Paul Jesson, Aaron Krohn, Dakin Matthews, Mark Nelson, Charlotte Parry, Gary Powell, Tobias Segal, Jessica Pollert Smith, and Hannah Stokely.

The creative team includes Anthony Ward (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Paul Pyant (lighting), Paul Arditti (sound), and Mark Bennett (original music). Mendes won the Academy Award for American Beauty, and his many stage credits include The Vertical Hour, Gypsy, Cabaret, The Blue Room. Uncle Vanya, and Twelfth Night.

After their engagement at BAM, the shows will play the Singapore Repertory Theatre (March 26-31), The Edge in Auckland, New Zealand (April 4-12), Teatro Espanol in Madrid, Spain (April 18-29), Germany's Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen (May 3-13), the Old Vic (May 22-August 15), and the Athens & Epidaurus Festival in Greece (August 21-22).
