Duerr to Direct and Star in Off-Broadway Premiere of Cohen's The Punishing Blow

Arrested, tried, and convicted, a college professor can stay out of jail if he enters rehab for his drinking, undergoes treatment for anger management, and gives a public lecture about one person of his choosing from a list of The 100 Most Influential Jews of All Time.
Duerr previously appeared in the play's world premiere at the Woodstock Fringe Festival this summer. He is the founder/artistic director of the York Shakespeare Company, and has directed and starred in numerous plays by Shakespeare and other authors. Cohen is the winner of four Emmy awards for his work as a writer for Late Night with David Letterman, TV Nation, and The Rosie O'Donnell Show and writes "The Ethicist", a weekly column in the sunday New York Times Magazine. Both artists will participate in a post-performance Q&A.
