Geraint Wyn Davies to Play Dylan Thomas in Do Not Go Gentle

Helen Hayes Award winner Geraint Wyn Davies will portray poet, playwright and author Dylan Thomas in Leon Pownall's Do Not Go Gentle, to run November 19 - January 10 at the Clurman Theatre on Theatre Row. Dean Gabourie will direct the production.

The play finds the writer of Under Milk Wood in Purgatory, reflecting on the influences in his life that brought him there.Do Not Go Gentle features stories of Thomas' childhood, his marital regrets, and his success in America.

Wyn Davies previously played Thomas in a production of the piece at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada. Among his other stage credits are performances as Polonius in Hamlet and Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream with the company. The actor won a Helen Hayes Award for his portrayal of Cyrano de Bergerac at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC.
