Jeffrey DeMunn will replace the previously announced Reed Birney in Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's world premiere of Geometry of Fire, by Stephen Belber. Lucie Tiberghien will direct the production, which will run November 15-December 14, with an opening on November 24. Birney withdrew due to the extension of SoHo Rep's Blasted, in which he stars.

The play involves the conflict between an investment banker-turned-Marine-sniper recently returned from Iraq and a Saudi-American who just wants to get laid.

As previously announced, the cast will also include Donnie Keshawarz, Jennifer Mudge, and Kevin O'Donnell. The creative team will include Robin Vest (sets), Anne Kennedy (costumes), Peter West (lights), Broken Chord Collective (sound), and Rick Sordelet (fight choreography).

DeMunn received a Tony nomination for his work in K2, and other Broadway credits include Our Town, Comedians, Hedda Gabler, Spoils of War, and The Price. He was last seen in New York in The Public's 2006 presentation of David Hare's Stuff Happens. His film credits include The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, The Majestic, and The Mist.

Belber is also currently represented by Fault Lines, presented by Naked Angels at The Cherry Lane. His other plays include Match, A Small, Melodramatic Story, McReele, and Tape. He received an Emmy nomination for co-writing The Laramie Project.
