Ivan Hernandez will temporarily assume the role of "El Gallo" in the Off-Broadway production of the Tom Jones-Harvey Schmidt musical The Fantasticks on Monday, September 17.

Hernandez will take over from Burke Moses, who will be taking a short leave of absence to play Sky Masterson in the American Musical Theatre of San Jose's production of Guys and Dolls. Hernandez's previous stage credits include Romantic Poetry, Zhivago, The Most Happy Fella, The Mambo Kings, and Senor Discretion Himself.

The current cast of The Fantasticks includes Thomas Bruce, Julie Craig, John Deyle, Jordan Nichols, Robert R. Oliver, Nick Spangler, Martin Vidnovic, Stewart Marland, Richard Roland, and Liz Holtan.
