Archbishop Desmond Tutu to Perform in Guantánamo

Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Allan Buchman, artistic director of The Culture Project, approached the archbishop about the show shortly before it opened in August. "He's very outspoken on this issue," Buchman told Jesse McKinley of The New York Times, "and he indicated that he wanted to draw attention to it any way he could."
Guantánamo is playing at the 45 Bleecker Street Theatre (at Lafayette Street). Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 8pm, with matinees on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday at 3PM.
