Erik King has joined the cast of The Vineyard Theatre' s world premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's Wig Out!, to begin previews on September 10. Tina Landau will direct the production, which will open officially on September 30. King replaces Michael Kenneth Williams, who withdrew for personal reasons.

The play tells the story of two competing "houses" of drag queens, and the loyalties and dreams which pull their members together and apart. McCraney's previous works include The Brothers Size and In the Red and Brown Water. He is the recipient of The Vineyard Theatre's first Paula Vogel Playwriting Award.

The cast will also include Daniel T. Booth (aka Sweetie), Nathan Lee Graham, Andre Holland, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Clifton Oliver, Jas Anderson, Joshua Cruz, Sean Patrick Doule, Angela Grovey, and McKenzie Frye. The creative team includes James Schutte (sets), Toni-Leslie James (costumes), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting), and Robert Kaplowtiz (sound).

King's film and television credits include Dexter, National Treasure, Oz, and The District.
