D'Abruzzo, Irving, Kaplan, et al. Set for Summer Shorts 2

Casting has been announced for Summer Shorts 2, an annual festival of new American short plays, at 59E59 Theaters, July 31-August 28.

Series A will include Leslie Lyles' The Waters of March, directed by Billy Hopkins and starring Oscar nominee Amy Irving; Crossing the Border, written by Eduardo Machado, directed by Randall Myler, and featuring Mando Alvarado and Gio Perez; Neil Koenigsberg's On a Bench, directed by Merri Milwe, and starring Mary Joy and David Beck; and Deep in the Hole, by Roger Hedden, directed by Billy Hopkins, with a cast including J.J. Kandel, David Ross, Emily Tremaine, and Kendra Mylnechuk.

Series B will include Keith Reddin's Our Time Is Up, directed by Billy Hopkins, and featuring Clara Hopkins Daniels and Janet Zarish; PeopleSpeak, by John Augustine, directed by Robert Saxner, starring Sherry Anderson, Patricia Randell, and Nick Westrate; On Island, by Michael Domitrovich, directed by Mary Catherine Burke, featuring Anthony Carrigan, Jorge Cordova, and Lisa Birnbaum; and the mini-musical Plaisir D'Amour featuring book by Terrence McNally, music and lyrics by Skip Kennon, direction by Elizabeth Lucas, and a cast including Jonathan C. Kaplan, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, and Rita Harvey.
