Lewis Cleale has replaced Bradley Dean in the role of El Gallo in the Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, currently at the Snapple Theater Center. Beginning June 29, he will be joined by Addi McDaniel who replaces Ramona Mallory as Luisa.
Written by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, the musical is based on Les Romanesques by Edmond Rostand, and tells the story of a young boy and girl who fall madly in love at the hands of their meddling fathers, but soon grow restless and stray from one another.
Cleale previously played his role from September 2008 through March 2009. His Broadway credits include Monty Python's Spamalot, Amour, Once Upon a Mattress, and Swinging on a Star, for which he earned a Drama Desk nomination. McDaniel played Gabriella in Disney's High School Musical at North Shore Music Theatre and appeared in the world premiere of Little House on the Prairie at the Guthrie.
The company also includes Tom Flagg, Gene Jones, Michael Nostrand, Evy Ortiz, Steve Routman, Jonathan Schwartz, Douglas Ullman, Jr., John Thomas Waite, and Scott Willis.
