Rosemary Prinz will star in Kari Floren's new drama Voices of Swords, to be directed by Spider Duncan Christopher, at Urban Stages, June 18-22.

Prinz plays Olivia, an indomitable woman who employs a personal organizer, to win the battle with her wayward son.

The cast will also include Robert M. Jimenez, Lauren Mufson, Michael McKenzie, Mary Elaine Monti, and Gordon Joseph Weiss. The design team will include Tamar Gadish (set), John Viesta (lights), Zach Moore (sound), and Roger Murdock (original music).

Prinz's Broadway credits include The Prisoner of Second Avenue, Tribute, and Three Men on a Horse. She originated the role of M'Lynn in Off-Broadway's Steel Magnolias, and is also known for TV work on As the World Turns and All My Children.

Floren's other plays include Incidental Lives, A Late Supper, The Porch, and If Wishes Were Horses.

RE: Rosemary Prinz to Star in Voices of Swords

I got to see this play on its first run through and was very impressed with the story and the performance of the actors. The story resonates so much in our societys often desperate need to be close to family. The two lead roles played by Ms. Prinz and Ms. Mufson balance eloquently on the stage and are supported with great aplomb by the other four players in the cast.
