The Civilians and The Flea Theater are set to present You Better Sit Down Salon Nights: Your Tales Take the Stage, a post-play event series as part of the previously announced run of The Civilians’ You Better Sit Down: Tales From My Parents’ Divorce, performing April 7-May 6 at The Flea Theater.

You Better Sit Down Salon Nights: Your Tales Take the Stage will take place Saturdays and Wednesdays and will provide audiences the rare opportunity to share in the storytelling. Artists from The Civilians’ and The Flea will develop short scenes and songs from material contributed by audiences based on questions related to personal experiences with divorce.

In addition, a unique collaboration of artists and organizations including playwrights Jason Grote and Jon Kern, Michael Schulman of The New Yorker, composer Michael Friedman, and singer-songwriters Kamara Thomas and Sam Bisbee will present works as part of these events.
