The original cast recording of the Off-Broadway production of Joe DiPietro and David Bryan's new musical The Toxic Avenger, based on the 1980 film of the same name, will be available at the show's theatrical home, New World Stages, on Monday, April 6. Time Life will officially release the CD on May 5.
The musical is directed by Tony Award winner John Rando. The cast includes Sara Chase, Nick Cordero, Demond Green, Nancy Opel, and Matthew Saldivar.
The Toxic Avenger focuses on Melvin Ferd the Third. After being tossed into a vat of radioactive goo, he becomes The Toxic Avenger, a New Jersey superhero who is determined to right wrongs, beat up bullies, and seduce his lady love, Sarah the Blind Librarian.
