Matthew Amendt, Dan Daily, Carol Schultz to Star in Pearl’s The Subject Was Roses

Matthew Amendt, Dan Daily, and Carol Schultz will star in the Pearl Theatre Company’s revival of Frank D. Gilroy’s The Subject Was Roses, to play New York City Center Stage II, April 9-May 9, with an opening on April 18. Amy Wright will direct.

Set in the Bronx in 1946, the play explores the Cleary family’s struggle to reconcile the disappointments of the past with hopes for the future in post-war America, as John (Daily) and Nettie (Schultz) welcome their son, Timmy (Armendt), home from World War II.

The creative team will include Harry Feiner (scenic design), Barbara A. Bell (costume design), Stephen Petrilli (lighting design), Jane Shaw (sound design), and Rod Kinter (fight director).
