Josh Tower will play Langston Hughes in the world premiere musical Langston in Harlem, to be presented by Urban Stages, April 9-May 2, with an opening on April 15.

The musical utilizes Hughes' writings, with additional contributions from the show's composer Walter Marks and director, Kent Gash. Set in the African-American cultural capital of Harlem from the Harlem Renaissance through the Civil Rights movement, it tells the story of Hughes' journey into manhood.

The cast will also include Jordan Barbour, Francesca Harper, Boise Holmes, Dell Howlett, Krisha Marcano, Kenita Miller, Gayle Turner, Glenn Turner, and C. Kelly Wright.

The creative team will include Emily Beck (scenic designer), William H. Grant, III (lighting designer), Austin Sanderson (costume designer) and Jason Fitzgerald (sound designer).
