Full casting has been announced for The Classical Theatre of Harlem's world premiere of Ty Jones' s Emancipation, to play the historic Audubon Ballroom, at The Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center, April 10-May 3. The show, which will open officially on April 17, will be directed by Christopher McElroen.

The play is an examination of the pivotal 1831 slave rebellion led by Nat Turner that became a watershed event in America's long and troubled history of slavery and racial conflict. This site-specific performance will be held in the same location where Malcolm X was assassinated on February 21, 1965.

In addition to Jones, the cast will feature Sean Patrick Reilly, Stephen Conrad Moore, Happy Anderson, Jenny Bennett, Gisela Chipe, Michael E. Cummings, James Jorsling, Jason Podplesky, Angela D. Polite, Wayne Pyle, James Singletary, and Lelund Durond Thompson.

The creative team will include Troy Hourie (set), Aaron Black (lighting), Aaron Rhyne (projections), and Kimberly Glennon (costumes).
