Full cast and creative team information has been announced for Transport Group's presentation of the new musical Marcy in the Galaxy, featuring book, music, and lyrics by Nancy Shayne, based on a story by Shayne and Michael Patrick King, and directed by artistic director Jack Cummings III. The production will run March 28-April 20, with an opening set for April 6.

Marcy in the Galaxy is a musical glimpse at what happens to a woman whose dream of being a New York artist takes longer to come true than she had planned. At mid-life, Marcy finds herself alone in the Galaxy Diner -- out of money and almost out of hope -- in this humorous and poignant self-examination that explores dreams, disappointment, family, first love, and delicious diner desserts.

The musical will star Donna Lynne Champlin in the title role, and the cast will also feature Janet Carroll, Jenny Fellner, Mary-Pat Green, Teri Ralston, and Jonathan Hammond. The creative team will include Sandra Goldmark (set), Kathryn Rohe (costumes), R. Lee Kennedy (lighting), Michael Rasbury (sound), and Mark Berman (musical direction, arrangements, and orchestrations).
