Mike Doyle and Christy Pusz will join Peter Bartlett, Jayne Houdyshell, and Linda Lavin in Lincoln Center Theater's production of Paul Rudnick's The New Century, a group of four one-act plays, to begin performances on March 20 at the Mitzi Newhouse Theater. The production, which will open officially on April 14, will be directed by Nicholas Martin.

Lavin will play a Long Island mother of at least three gay children; Houdyshell will play an accomplished Midwestern craftswoman, and Bartlett will reprise his role as Mr. Charles, a flamboyant resident of Palm Beach, Florida. Rudnick's previous plays include Jeffrey, Regrets Only, and I Hate Hamlet.

The show will feature sets by Allen Moyer, costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting by Kevin Posner, and original music and sound design by Mark Bennett. Martin directed the Lincoln Center productions of Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme, Chaucer in Rome, and The Time of the Cuckoo. His Broadway credits include Match and Hedda Gabler.

Bartlett most recently starred in The Drowsy Chaperone and was previously seen in Lincoln Center's production of The Frogs. Houdyshell recently starred in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of The Receptionist; her Broadway credits include Well, for which she received a Tony Award nomination, and Wicked. Lavin received the Tony Award for Broadway Bound. Her many other Broadway credits include The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Hollywood Arms, and Gypsy. Doyle has appeared Off-Broadway in Burning Blue and has a recurring role on Law & Order: SVU. Pusz's Broadway credits include Dinner at Eight and La Boheme.
