About This Show

National Black Theatre produces Wade in the Water in celebration and healing for the Katrina Hurricane Survivors. Dr. Barbara Ann Teer, Founder and CEO of NBT with Dr. Ronald Daniels, Founder of the Institute of The Black World 21st Century brings Dr. Maurice Henderson’s National Black Arts Spoken Word Tour back to New York for an encore performance of this poetry drama. The two Institution Builders, Dr. Teer and Dr. Daniels, have been joined by Anton Edwards the Internationally known ‘Master of Disaster.’ Together they are committed to the preparedness of each audience member’s readiness to avoid the next Katrina Tragedy.

A cast of poets and singers come together as a community to weave a powerful poetic tribute that reaches our feelings and touches our emotions, clearing up and making way for the challenges of surviving the aftermath of the natural occurrence that is Katrina. Wade in the Water is a perfect way to honor the Katrina Survivors and experience the power of Moving to Higher Ground.
