About This Show

Tongues: A Reading Series, named in honor of Joseph Chaikin, celebrates a generation of bold voices, including Mentor Project semifinalists, and adds depth and texture to Cherry Lane’s annual roster. Fledgling or accomplished, these writers have heard their words interpreted by some of New York’s top actors. Julia Roberts, Joe Mantello, Peter Riegert, Olympia Dukakis, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Anthony LaPaglia, Kim Hunter, Anne Pitoniak, Ethan Hawke, Judith Ivey, Jay O. Sanders, Bob Balaban, and Lisa Emery are only a few of those who have contributed their time and talent to Cherry Lane’s readings.
