The Distance From Here
$50.00
Jealousy runs amok in a suburban wasteland where no one acts like an adult or respects a boundary enough to set one. The play centers around Darrell, a teen-age slacker pushed over the brink of sanity by a loveless home life. Over time, Darrell is deceived by his mother, Cammie, who can’t remember his childhood; by his stepsister, Shari, who suggests they have sexual relations; and by Rich, his mother’s boyfriend. The cycle of betrayal comes full circle at a decrepit suburban zoo when Darrell decides to confront his girlfriend Jenn, and his best friend Tim. The Distance From Here is written by Neil LaBute, and presented by MCC Theater.
Michael Greif directs a cast that includes Amelia Alvarez, Ian Brennan, Josh Charles, Melissa Leo, Logan Marshall-Green, Anna Paquin, Alison Pill, and Mark Webber.
The production is the recipient of a special Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance.
The Thursday, May 6 opening night curtain is at 7pm.
