The Blue Bird

Urban Stages presents The Blue Bird, written by Stanton Wood and Lori Ann Laster, adapted from the play by Maurice Maeterlinck, and directed by Heath Cullens.

A mysterious visitor on Christmas Eve leads a materialistic city girl named Martha on a fantastical journey in search of the “blue bird of happiness” in this multimedia musical extravaganza. Armed with a magic hat that reveals the “true nature” of things and accompanied by her household pets, Martha’s journey of exploration features innovative scenic design by world famous Russian artist Andrey Bartenev and music by composer Colm Clark.
