About This Show

Today everyone’s a critic. But during Elizabethan times, the priveleged many were playwrights. Or at least that’s one theory behind The Beard of Avon, Amy Freed’s droll take on the long-standing debate over who really penned the Bard’s canon. Could it be that stagestruck bumpkin named Will Shakespeare posed as front-man for the likes of Sir Francis Bacon, the Earl of Oxford, and even the Queen, who were all too proud to admit they dabbled in the lowly sport of wordsmithing? Or were the nobles simply gifted with plot and he a mere script doctor?

Sunday evening performances are only available at the Box Office.
