About This Show

Michael Greif directs the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park production of Romeo & Juliet. The famous young star-crossed lovers Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet fall in love despite the ongoing feud between their two noble families. Their impassioned love is forced to endure the greatest of tests. Tragically, they are only united in the end through death. Oscar Isaac stars as “Romeo” and Lauren Ambrose as “Juliet.”

Tickets are FREE and will be available on the day of the performance (two per person) at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park beginning at 1:00 p.m. and at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette Street (near Astor Place), from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The closest entrances to the Delacorte are at 81st Street and Central Park West or 79th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Lauren Ambrose is the reason to see this otherwise disappointing version of Shakespeare’s classic play.
