About This Show

Blue Heron Theatre continues its 14th season with the New York premiere of Rockwell, a new musical based on the life of legendary artist, Norman Rockwell. Created by the sister team of Eileen Bluestone Sherman (book and lyrics) and Gail C. Bluestone (music), the production is directed by Conrad John Schuck, and stars Mark Jacoby, Joel Blum, Jane Summerhays, and Stephanie Pope.

What most people don’t know is that Norman Rockwell was a complete enigma and nothing like his “feel good” pictures. At the height of his success, he suffered from chronic despair, because he believed he “sold out” for fame and fortune. This new musical is set at The White Plains Fair Side Show of 1904, where Norman Rockwell first met Amy the Wild Woman (Stephanie Pope). The incident at the carnival serves as the framework for the musical’s odyssey through Rockwell’s life and career. This play not only explores the man’s emotional turmoil, but also reminds us of how the artist captured an ideal America on canvas. In our uncertain times, Rockwell’s patriotic vision resonates loud and clear.

Rockwell is now completely SOLD OUT.
