Othello

A great love corroded by deception and unbridled jealousy lies at the heart of Shakespeare’s Othello. Outraged at losing a promotion to the fervently loyal Cassio, the villainous Iago convinces Othello that Desdemona has betrayed him with his trusted lieutenant. Possessed by insecurity and doubt, the Moor falls measurably into Iago’s snare, a catastrophic turn of events that leads to rampant paranoia and, ultimately, murder.
