After “abandoning” his family by leaving home, Joe O’Neill returns to his hometown to be by his dying father’s side. Once a Man, Twice a Boy tells of Joe’s pursuit of his family’s American dream, examining the central character’s Irish heritage and the drudgery of working in the mines of the Anthracite regions of Eastern Pennsylvania. The one-man show is written and performed by Joe Lucas, and directed by Mark W. Travis.
