Nico: Underground

Tammy Faye Starlite stars as the ’60s icon, Warhol superstar and Velvet Underground centerpiece who was born Christa Paffagen in pre-war Germany. Starlite has spent the better part of four years developing the original script that draws from videos, interviews, biographies, rare recordings as well as first person interviews with those who personally knew the Teutonic chanteuse. Her seriocomic portrayal is a masterful characterization that includes songs by Lou Reed, Jim Morrison, Jackson Browne, David Bowie, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, Rogers and Hart as well as Nico’s own compositions. Nico: Underground is the world’s first and only Sturm und Drang jukebox musical.
