Labapalooza! Mini Festival of New Puppet Theater

About This Show

Labapalooza!, the annual festival in which the artists present their works, embraces a diversity of new puppetry works. Subjects this year include a crash landing on a planet made of egg, the death of Sam Cooke, the anarchists Sacco and Vanzetti, and a series of murders at the Helen Keller School of Music.

The works are presented in two programs.

Program A includes Interference & Collapse, Far From the Tree, The Pigeoning and Send for the Million Men. It will be performed Thursday, June 2 at 8:00 P.M.; Saturday, Jun¬e 4 at 8:00 P.M.; and Sunday, June 5 at 2:00 P.M.

Program B features Voyage to the Skies, Sheep Musings in the Valley of Sleeping Dogs, Senseless and Planet Egg. It will run Friday, June 3 at 8:00 P.M.; Saturday, June 4 at 2:00 P.M.; and Sunday, June 5 at 7:00 P.M.

Throughout the festival, Messenger Theatre Company’s installation Seeing Inside will be on view in the St. Ann’s Warehouse lobby. Directed by Emily Davis and designed by Jess Hooks, Seeing Inside takes place inside the skirt of 19th century scholar, Lou Andreas-Salome.
