About This Show

Repertorio Español presents one of the most important plays of 20th century Latin American theater: La Pasión Segun Antígona Pérez (The Passion According to Antígona Pérez) by Luis Rafael Sánchez. The play is a recasting of the Antigone legend set in a mythical Latin American country. It explores the many political situations and dictatorships of Latin America during the 1960’s and ’70s–and their continuing repercussions more than 30 years later. It is an epic, grand play that touches the human mind and soul. René Buch directs.
