About This Show

Rising recording star and performer Jwalker is set to make his NYC concert debut this summer at the Triad Theater. The concerts will lead up to the release of his first album, “Photos on the Floor,” set to be released early in the fall and his first single, the moving ballad “Always,” was released on iTunes earlier this year.

With a smooth bari-tenor voice that compliments his engaging performance style, Jwalker’s music has an R&B/jazz vibe fused with a modern pop sensibility. With NYC nightlife icon Daniel Lincoln as music director, the Triad concerts will feature backup singers and a 10 piece band as they perform songs from Jwalker’s upcoming album as well as contemporary arrangements of beloved vocal standards.

A native of North Carolina, the charming, attractive and down to earth Jwalker grew up traveling with his family singing gospel music and went on to sing popular and classical music in a variety of venues. After studying vocal performance at Mount Olive College, Jwalker spent several years doing regional modeling, served as host and entertainer for the Miss North Carolina Pageant, The Eastern NC Opry, cabarets, variety shows, and other regional events.

Community service is another passion of Jwalker’s; in 2004 he tragically lost his mother to cancer after battling a brain tumor for nearly a year and he uses his music to increase awareness for brain tumor research. The sales of his single “Always” benefit the Brain Tumor Foundation and Jwalker continually works with several service organizations including the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, and the Duke University Medical Center.
