About This Show

Pay one price for an evening-long festival of contemporary and traditional music from five continents, with a remarkable continuous line-up of artists performing short sets on three stages at the Public Theater, including Joe’s Pub, the Anspacher Theater and Martinson Hall. The line-up showcases established stars and important NYC debuts, and includes Diego Amador (Spain) Cyro Baptista & Beat the Donkey (Brazil/US); Mercan Dede & Secret Tribe(Turkey/Canada); GlobeSonic (US); Angelique Kidjo (acoustic), Forro In the Dark; Kayhan Kalhor (Iran); Marcel Khalife (Lebanon/France); Les Yeux Noir (Rom/France) Tania Libertad (Peru/Mexico); Vusi Mahlasela (South Africa); Mariza (Portugal); Emeline Michel (Haiti/US); Raul Paz (Cuba/France); Susheela Raman (UK); Savina Yannatou & Salonica en Primavera (Greece). All artists and schedule subject to change, and admission to each venue/showcase is on a first-come/first served basis, subject to capacity. GlobalFEST is part of the annual Arts Presenters (APAP) conference, and is a co-production of The Public Theater, World Music Institute and World Music/Crash Arts, Boston with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy to the U.S. Savina Yannatou is appearing with the generous support of the Ministry of Culture in Greece.
